Accessibility Statement
Center for Advanced Internet Studies
Website: https://www.cais-research.de/
Operator: Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) gGmbH
Content and Purpose of This Statement
This accessibility statement informs you about the accessibility of our website and web application in accordance with the provisions of Section 12a of the German Disability Equality Act (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz, BGG). Additionally, we provide various contact options through which you can report any existing barriers.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
The Center for Advanced Internet Studies is committed to making its website https://www.cais-research.de/ accessible. The legal basis for this is the Disability Equality Act (BGG), the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), and the harmonized European standard EN 301 549 in its current valid version.
Current Implementation Status
The accessibility of the website was evaluated using the FriendlyCaptcha Accessibility Check and achieved a score of 91% WCAG AAA conformity. This demonstrates our commitment to comprehensive accessibility, as we not only meet the legally required WCAG AA standards but also strive to achieve the highest level of accessibility.
Areas that are not yet fully accessible are listed in the following section. The Center for Advanced Internet Studies continuously works toward full accessibility of its website.
Areas with Limited Accessibility
Despite the good score of 91% WCAG AAA, amongst other things the following aspects still need improvement:
- Contrast of interactive elements: In some areas, the visual contrast between foreground and background is not yet optimal. This can affect the readability and perceivability of certain content.
- Visibility of links: Some links are not sufficiently recognizable as such or lack clearly perceivable link text. Improved labeling is planned.
- Scalability of content: The ability to flexibly zoom or scale content is currently technically limited in some cases. Enhancements to this functionality are planned.
Note: These points mainly concern the achievement of the highest WCAG AAA standards and do not impair the basic usability of the website.
Documentation of This Statement
This accessibility statement was created on July 11, 2025. The evaluation is based on a recent assessment using the FriendlyCaptcha Accessibility Check (91% WCAG AAA). The legally required annual update of this statement is conscientiously carried out.
