“Second sexual revolution? Changing sexuality in the digitalised world: phenomena, causes, effects”

AG Vowe Krämer

The aim of the working group is to prepare a proposal for the establishment of a DFG priority programme on the topic “Second sexual revolution? Changes in Sexuality in the Digitalised World: Phenomena, Causes, Effects”. This topic area is characterised by an enormous discrepancy between its scientific and social significance and the scientific attention it has received to date. The SPP would largely enter new empirical and theoretical territory. The starting point of the research programme is changes in sexual agency in the context of digitalisation, i.e. above all the penetration of online media.

Two meetings were held, bringing together the five people from different disciplines who applied for the priority programme. The circle of participants was expanded to include other experts.

The joint work resulted in a 25-page proposal that was submitted to the DFG on 15 October 2018.
