The Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) officially begins its work with an inaugural conference on 3 February. 150 guests are invited to the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum to celebrate the founding of the CAIS and to participate in an opening conference afterwards. The Scientific Director of the CAIS, Prof. Dr. Michael Baurmann (University of Düsseldorf), will open the event and introduce the CAIS. This will be followed by greetings from the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Science, Svenja Schulze, and the Lord Mayor of the City of Bochum, Thomas Eiskirch.
