Christoph Bieber is organising a workshop on “Digital ethics” as part of the conference “Artificial intelligence improves society?”. This will take place in January 2024 at the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing. Some of the content was also planned by the Learning Systems platform, with other participants including Richard Gutjahr, Ortwin Renn, Christoph Neuberger and Peter Dabrock.
The workshop will last 60 minutes, during which conference participants will deal with a procedure for “ethical decision-making” and discuss a current project from the smart city environment. (e.g. automated lighting concept, car park monitoring)
The workshop will take place on 18 and 19 January 2024 at the Akademie für politische Bildung Tutzing.
Information about the conference:
With the publication of ChatGPT at the end of 2022, the latest developments in artificial intelligence became directly accessible to large parts of society. The disruption associated with ChatGPT and other generative AI systems seems to permeate all areas of life: Science, business, the world of work, the media and, last but not least, everyday life. In general, AI-based applications are changing many processes and possibly making many things easier. This brings opportunities, but also challenges: Images, texts and videos are created automatically.
Advanced pattern recognition can support medical diagnoses or the maintenance of machines. However, there is also a risk of these technologies being misused, for example by generating and disseminating disinformation. What new skills do we need to be able to assess and utilise these results? How must AI be regulated in order to limit negative effects? At our conference, experts from science, business and politics will shed light on the impact of artificial intelligence on society and discuss technical, ethical and legal implications.
