Algorithmic “decisions” in medicine?

Susanne Hahn with a presentation at the 5th RAILS (Robotics and AI Law Society) conference “Use of AI and Robotics in Medicine: Interdisciplinary Issues” on 31 March 2023 in Berlin.

The lecture problematises the talk of algorithms “making decisions”: What presuppositions/connotations/networks of meaning are transferred when an expression that is used in human contexts of action is transferred to the field of artificial intelligence, and what misleading effects can result? Which understandings of decision can be distinguished and which understanding fits to sortings as they are made by algorithms?
