The 89th conference of the Arbeitsgruppe für Empirische Pädagogische Forschung (AEPF) will take place from September 22 to 24, 2025, at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Prof. Dr. Nikol Rummel, research professor and head of the CAIS research program “Educational Technologies and Artificial Intelligence,” gives a keynote speech titled “Künstliche Intelligenz in der Bildung: (M)eine Reise durch die Entwicklung der Forschung in diesem Bereich und ein Ausblick” and will discuss the role of AI in supporting learning and teaching processes. Her presentation traces the development of AI in education and examines how AI has been and is being used to automate and support certain tasks, what combinations of human control and system autonomy can be distinguished, and what opportunities and difficulties have emerged. In addition, she will discuss how teachers use teaching analytics to expand their pedagogical scope. In an outlook, she will highlight the possibilities of closely coupled human-AI systems, also with a view to current work in the EU project TAICo.
Die Arbeitsgruppe für Empirische Pädagogische Forschung (AEPF) beschäftigt sich mit empirischer Forschung innerhalb der Erziehungswissenschaft und im interdisziplinären Austausch. Ihr Fokus ist die Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Dialogs zwischen empirisch forschenden Wissenschaftler:innen sowie Akteur:innen aus der Praxis. Dieses Jahr feiert sie zudem ihr 60-jähriges Jubiläum.
