At the upcoming conference “Human and Artificial Rationalities” (HAR) in Paris, Jana Baum will give a lecture entitled “Does the Apperception Engine possess theoretical knowledge?”. The interdisciplinary and international conference will take place from 17 to 20 September at the Facultés Libres de Philosophie et de Psychologie and will focus on the comparison of human and artificial rationalities. The HAR conference series examines how human and artificial rationalities interact in practice and also sheds light on the theoretical and ethical aspects of rationality from the perspectives of philosophy, psychology and computer science.
The talk will address the question of whether the Apperception Engine, an AI-based programme that processes sensory input with Kantian categories, can have knowledge about the world.
