At the end of May 2025, there was a change in the leadership of the Supervisory Board at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS): Dr. Martin Goch, Chancellor of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, was elected by the members of the board as the new head. He succeeds Dr. Christina Reinhardt, Chancellor of Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), who had held the position until now and will step down from her role at RUB at the end of the year.

“We sincerely thank Dr. Christina Reinhardt for her dedicated and reliable work as head of the Supervisory Board,” said Prof. Dr. Tim A. Majchrzak, Scientific Director of CAIS. “Her dedication has had a lasting impact on CAIS.”

Dr. Martin Goch was already a member of the Supervisory Board and brings extensive experience in university management. He looks forward to his new role:

“CAIS is a central institution for socially oriented digitalization research in North Rhine-Westphalia. I am pleased to follow my esteemed colleague Christina Reinhardt and to support its development in the future as head of the Supervisory Board together with the representatives of the other shareholders,” said Dr. Martin Goch.

The Supervisory Board of CAIS monitors and advises the executive management by the Board of Directors. Its responsibilities include, in particular, overseeing legality, appropriateness, and efficiency, approving the budget plan, as well as participating in strategic fundamental decisions and the development of the research agenda.
