Ahrabhi Kathirgamalingam and Anna Maria Planitzer will deliver an interactive (hybrid) talk on January 30, 2025, at the Wiener Volkshochschulen, titled “Hate and Discrimination Online: What Can AI Really Do?”.

The automated detection of discrimination is a topic of interest for both companies and the scientific community. Despite technological advancements, significant challenges remain. Together with the participants, they aim to discuss how AI is used to combat discrimination and how people in Austria perceive these interventions. Topics such as bias and restrictions on freedom of expression will also be explored.

The talk will be held in German and is part of the series “Young Science”.
