“How does constructive journalism influence perceptions of climate change?”

A new essay with Gerhard Vowe was published in an anthology "Climate (change) communication".

6. February 2023

Constructive journalism differs from problem-centred journalism in that it focuses on possibilities and successes in overcoming problems. It is still unclear what effects this has on readers and viewers. The study shows on the basis of experiments that constructive climate journalism triggers positive emotions and reduces fear and resignation. The willingness to act, on the other hand, is hardly influenced.
