From April 28 to 30, 2026 the workshop of the College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research (CIDER) at the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim will focus on the future of education. At part of the CIDER Spring Workshop 2026 on the theme “The Future of Education: AI and the Digitalization of Education,” CIDER fellows will discuss current developments at the intersection of education, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
Prof. Nikol Rummel, head of the CAIS research program “Educational Technologies and Artificial Intelligence,” will deliver a keynote on April 29 titled “Fostering Collaborative Learning and Promoting Collaboration Skills: What Generative AI Could Contribute.” She will then join Prof. Dr. Karina Karst (University of Mannheim) and Prof. Dr. Olaf Köller (IPN Leibniz Institute) for the “Discussion Table on the Future of Education.”
The workshop is jointly organized by the Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), the Institute for Educational Quality Improvement (IQB), and the Hector Institute for Empirical Educational Research, and will take place at ZEW in Mannheim.
