“Narrative, creative – immersive? The immersive potential of right-wing influencers in social media”

Josephine B. Schmitt and Sandra Kero with a workshop on right-wing Influencer:ins in social media on 9 November as an online format.

18. October 2023

Immersive experiences that users have in digital spaces can have strong emotional effects and influence political or ideological attitudes. The symposium deals with immersive effects of social media platforms. In addition to a detailed discussion of the question of what immersivity can mean in this context, we will present mechanisms that contribute to the immersiveness of right-wing influencers in social media against the backdrop of concepts and theories from media and communication studies as well as psychology.
