The conference will take place from March 31 to April 1 at the Haus der Universität in Düsseldorf under the overarching theme “Perspectives of Open Sciences in a Digitalized Democracy.” It serves as a networking platform and a space for open discourse on the potentials and challenges of open science and integrated research.
Open Science as the Central Theme of the Conference
Since 2018, the “Integrated Research” cluster has been addressing the question of how ethical, legal, and social aspects of technological innovations can be systematically integrated into research and development projects from the outset. The specialist conference serves as a platform for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary exchange and aims to provide impulses for sustainable and participatory science. The focus is on how research can be productively opened to increase societal relevance and successfully integrate participatory elements into scientific processes.
Josephine B. Schmitt Presents the CAIS Research Incubator
In her presentation on April 1 at 11:25 AM, Josephine B. Schmitt will speak on “Shaping Research on Digital Transformation: The CAIS Research Incubator.” The CAIS Research Incubator has two main areas of responsibility. It develops and tests innovative formats and methods for science and research to promote cross-sector networking and interdisciplinary collaboration. Additionally, it continuously identifies relevant research topics through input from societal stakeholders, which are then explored by interdisciplinary teams at CAIS.
