The format serves as a platform to present unfinished projects in a protected setting to gather feedback and impulses before they go on the big stage or are submitted to a journal. So the ideas presented can be very rough, open and unfinished.
The format also served to promote discussion and exchange between researchers, fellows and administrative staff.
In addition to three so-called F*ck Up Talks, in which Michael Baurmann, Christoph Bieber and Johannes Breuer gave entertaining insights into selected things that have not worked out in their previous academic careers, five researchers at CAIS presented and discussed more or less finished research papers.
