Psychology and AI: Conference on the Human-Centered Approach to Artificial Intelligence

On June 18, 2026, a conference supported by CAIS will be held in Berlin on psychological perspectives on AI. The focus will be on human-centeredness, responsibility, and current developments such as the AI Act.

16. February 2026

CAIS researcher Prof. Nikol Rummel, head of the CAIS research program “Educational Technologies and Artificial Intelligence,” is organizing a conference on psychological perspectives on the research and evaluation of artificial intelligence (AI) in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Nicole Krämer (Ruhr University Alliance, Research Center for Trustworthy Data Science and Security). Through interactive discussion formats, participants will explore the key contributions that psychological theories and empirical findings make to the human-centered design of AI. Against the backdrop of current developments – such as the wider availability of AI systems in everyday life and legislative efforts to regulate them, for example through the AI Act and the Digital Services Act – the role of psychology in ensuring a responsible and socially embedded use of AI will be examined.

Registration is now open

The conference is aimed at psychologists from both research and practice, early-career researchers, representatives from politics, government, and NGOs, as well as stakeholders from AI research, regulation, and civil society. Interested parties are cordially invited to register for the conference on this page by May 15.
