On Thursday, December 11, Besjon Cifliku, Jasmin Baake, and Prof. Hendrik Heuer from the CAIS research program “Desig of Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence” shared their current research on artificial intelligence in journalism with the STRG_F team at Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). STRG_F is a reportage format produced by NDR for the public media network Funk.
The exchange focused on how artificial intelligence (AI) can concretely support journalists. Using practical examples, the researchers demonstrated the range of possibilities modern AI tools already offer and how they can make editorial workflows more efficient, secure, and creative. In addition, they presented new findings on the needs of investigative journalists – a focus derived from the research conducted by Besjon Cifliku.
The goal of the meeting was to support journalistic teams in integrating AI technologies responsibly and effectively into their daily work. The presentation offered concrete impulses and highlighted ways in which newsrooms can benefit directly from these tools.
