Student workshop on AI in the classroom

On 8 July 2025, Dr. Astrid Wichmann will be speaking about "AI in the Classroom: What's Hype and What Does the Research Say?” as part of the student event “Ökonomie hautnah – Wirtschaft erleben” (Economics up close) organized by the RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research at the Haus der Technik in Essen.

3. July 2025

The RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research is one of the leading economic research institutes in Germany, a member of the Leibniz Association and one of the shareholders of CAIS. Since 2017, the RWI has been inviting young people to experience economics first-hand with its event series “Ökonomie hautnah – Wirtschaft erleben” (Economics up close): discussing with researchers, understanding interrelations and developing their own perspectives. The focus is to lower inhibitions about engaging with economic issues and demonstrating how economics play an influencing role in everyday life.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the RWI invites to this year’s event at the Haus der Technik in Essen. The interactive program is aimed at interested upper secondary school students and their teachers, offering an opportunity to explore and discuss key topics in economics in an accessible way. As part of the event program, Dr. Astrid Wichmann, science manager of the CAIS research program “Educational Technologies & Artificial Intelligence,” will hold a workshop on the topic “AI in the Classroom: What’s Hype and What Does the Research Say?”

Participation is free of charge and registration is now open. Further information can be found in the event flyer.
