Olga Matveieva was a Fellow at CAIS from October 2025 to March 2026. During this time, she focused on the topic “Technology-Driven Sociopolitical Transformations in Ukraine: Analyzing the Gendered Impacts of the Russian War in Ukraine.” Her research examined how technology-driven civic engagement in the context of the war in Ukraine – particularly by women and LGBTQIA+ individuals – contributes to social cohesion, advances gender equality, and supports democratic development.
Her research resulted in three publications, developed in collaboration with other scholars. These include joint work with former fellows Dmytro Khutkyy and Vasil Navumau:
