Researchers from CAIS are represented at Europe’s leading conference on digital society, re:publica 2026 in Berlin. Their contributions focus on current debates around social media regulation for young people, vibe coding, deepfakes, and digital sovereignty through decentralized networks.
At the annual meeting of the Network of Institutes for Digitalization Research in Hamburg, current priorities such as open science, interdisciplinarity, futures research, and transdisciplinary approaches as well as issues of cooperation and institutional structure were discussed, and further collaboration among the participating German research institutes was coordinated.
Prof. Nikol Rummel will give a keynote on April 29 about how generative AI can support collaborative learning and strengthen the ability to work together.
Prof. Nikol Rummel will serve as a panel speaker at the workshop “Hybrid Intelligence: Human-AI Collaboration and Learning,” while Katharina Teich will give a presentation on self-regulated learning in online continuing education courses.
In March, Prof. Nikol Rummel, head of the CAIS research program “Educational Technologies and Artificial Intelligence,” accompanied the NRW Minister for Science Ina Brandes on her trip to the USA. The focus was on exchange around opportunities and challenges of AI with experts from universities in Washington, DC and Pittsburgh.
