T.J. Thomson, former CAIS fellow, conducted research during his time at CAIS on “generative visual artificial intelligence (AI) in news: audience perceptions and newsroom guidelines.” The findings from his fellowship have now been published.
Dr. Sarah Ciston, former CAIS Fellow, has published an article in the journal AI & Society. In it, she analyzes the safety and filtering mechanisms (“guardrails”) of large language models as both technical and ideological mechanisms.
Sebastian Gießmann, former CAIS Fellow, conducted research on the history and theory of digital payment during his time at CAIS. His book “The Credit Card Book: History and Theory of Digital Payment” has now been published.
Jörg Lehmann, former CAIS fellow, publishes the results of his CAIS Fellowship as a book chapter in the “Research Handbook on Art, Culture and Heritage Law”.
During her fellowship at CAIS, Olga Matveieva conducted research on “Technology-Driven Sociopolitical Transformations in Ukraine: Analyzing the Gendered Impacts of the Russian War in Ukraine.” This work has resulted in three publications.
