Dr. Astrid Wichmann is Science Manager for the Research Programme Educational Technologies & Artificial Intelligence (Prof. Nikol Rummel). In this role, she supports the research programme by preparing presentations, proposals as well as, reviewing scientific manuscripts, organising scientific events and much more.

She also works as a science manager at the Chair of Educational Psychology and Educational Technology at the Ruhr University Bochum. She regularly receives teaching assignments in the field of education from the RUB as well as the FOM and is committed to teaching basic computer science concepts and programming at primary schools.

Curriculum vitae

  • Since 2020 she is science manager at the Chair of Educational Psychology (Prof. Nikol Rummel), Ruhr-University Bochum.
  • Before that (2016-2020), she coordinated the NRW Progress College SecHuman at the Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security.
  • In 2014-2015 she visited the Graduate School of Education (Prof. Marcia Linn) University of California-Berkeley, USA once as part of a research stay (03/2015 -06/2015) and once as a Visiting Scholar (09/2013 – 03/2014).
  • Astrid Wichmann completed her doctorate in teaching-learning psychology under Prof. Dr. Leutner at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2010 and was a research assistant at the Chair of Cooperative and Learning Support Systems (Prof. Ulrich Hoppe) at the University of Duisburg-Essen.
  • She completed her Master of Education in the Technology Track at the University of Missouri in 2003.

Astrid Wichmann is a regular reviewer for international journals including: Journal of the Learning Sciences (JLS), Int. Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (ijCSCL) and for international conferences: Conference of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI), European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL), Annual Meeting of the International Society of the Learning Sciences (ISLS)
