Esther Laukötter is a science communication officer and responsible for press relations at CAIS. She is the contact person for journalists and plans, designs and implements science communication formats.
Previously, she has researched and published on university and science communication, taught on topics of strategic communication and gained professional experience in various PR agencies. As a freelancer, she has given various training seminars on media competence, especially in the field of online communication, and created communication campaigns and concepts for various organisations.

- From April 2021 – January 2022, Esther Laukötter was a science communication officer in the project Meinungsmonitor Künstliche Intelligenz [MeMo:KI]. (The position was funded by the Mercator Foundation)
- From 2020 – 2021, Esther Laukötter was a research assistant at the Chair KMW I at the Institute of Social Sciences at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Areas of teaching and research include Strategic Communication and Science Communication.
- in 2021, she completed her doctorate in communication studies on the topic ‘Crisis – Communication – Management? Crisis Communication between Control and the Illusion of Control’ at the Institute for Communication Studies at the Westphalian Wilhelms University Münster
- 2017 – 2022 she was a lecturer in the Master Higher Education and Science Management of the Weiterbildung gGmbH of the Westphalian Wilhelms University Münster
- From 2013 – 2019, she researched and taught as a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the Strategic Communication department of Prof. Dr. Ulrike Röttger at the Institute for Communication Studies at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster.
- She completed her studies at the Ruhr University Bochum (Media Studies and German Studies, Bachelor) and at the WWU Münster (Communication Studies, Master)
