Along with Scientific Director, Prof. Dr. Christiane Eilders, and Executive Director, Michael Paul, Prof. Dr. Tim A. Majchrzak forms the executive board of CAIS.

Tim Majchrzak studied Business and Information Systems Engineering and earned his doctorate in economics and habilitation in business and information systems at the University of Münster. After two years as a deputy professor at the University of Cologne, he worked for over ten years at the University of Agder (UiA) in Norway, most recently five years as professor in Information Systems.

  • Since 04/2025: Full Professorship (W3) for Computing, Technology and Society at Ruhr University Bochum
  • 03/2015 – 03/2025: Initially Førsteamanuensis (Associate Professor) and then Professor in Information Systems at the University of Agder (UiA), Kristiansand, Norway
  • 07/2015: Habilitation: Award of the Venia Legendi in Business Informatics by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the University of Münster (Topic: Software Engineering for Mobile Devices)
  • 04/2014 to 03/2015: Deputy Professorship for Information Systems and Operations Research, at the University of Cologne
  •  04/2013 to 03/2014: Deputy Professorship for Information Systems, specifically Integrated Information Systems, at the University of Cologne
  • 2011 – 2015: Temporary Academic Council at the University of Münster
  • 2007 – 2011: Awarded the title of Dr. rer. pol. by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the University of Münster (Topic: Technical and Organizational Aspects of Software Testing)
  • Studied Business and Information System Engineering at University of Münster
