Sabine Schermeier is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the research programme Educational Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. She conducts research on collaborative, hybrid teaching/learning scenarios.
Curriculum vitae
She has been working in the Media & Didactics department at HafenCity University Hamburg since 2020. Her tasks include advising teachers on digital tools, designing and implementing media-didactic workshops and supporting projects of the Hamburg-wide initiative Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU). She is also co-author of the online service Digitaler Freischwimmer, which presents tips and good practices on digital teaching.
From 2016 to 2019, she worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Higher Education Didactics at the Technical University of Hamburg. Here she was responsible for advising teachers on media didactics, supporting teaching innovation projects and designing Open Educational Resources as part of HOOU.
From 2011 to 2016, she was responsible for the conception of (online) study materials and the further development of e-learning activities at the European Distance Learning University Hamburg.
From 1998 to 2011, she worked as a freelance translator and editor as well as a lecturer for various further education institutions and universities. In addition, she was the owner of the translation agency textdock GbR.
From 2012 to 2014, she completed the part-time distance learning programme “Media & Education” at the University of Rostock (Master of Arts).
From 2000 to 2001, she completed postgraduate studies in “German as a Foreign Language” at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.
From 1993 to 1998 she completed her degree in translation (French and English) at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne.
