Samuel T. Simon has been supporting the work at CAIS in the area of the research incubator since November 2020. There, he is involved in the development and implementation of innovative structures for interdisciplinary collaboration in digitisation research and the identification of relevant research topics. In doing so, he draws on professional experience in the areas of service design, design thinking and agile innovation, as well as practical knowledge in the conception and implementation of workshop formats. His main areas of interest are participatory digital culture and ethical design.

  • Since 2018, Samuel T. Simon has been supporting digital transformation processes of consulting companies as a freelancer
  • Between 2017 and 2020, he developed and designed the digital strategy for Service Design Network gGmbH, where he received further training in the areas of service design, design thinking and future forecasting.
  • In parallel, between 2017 and 2018, he completed a trainer training course at the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce and a project manager training course at the Institute for Practical Psychology and Organisational Consulting (IPO Lomnitz).
  • Since 2017, he has been conducting media competence workshops for TV and radio productions for the media education department of WDR Cologne.
  • Since 2016, he has been a lecturer at the University of Cologne, where he teaches project management in the creative sector and develops film productions with students.
  • in 2016, Samuel T. Simon also worked for Jugendpresse Deutschland e.V. as a communications officer for the Youth Media Days.
  • He completed his studies in media management and media cultural studies (Bachelor and Master) between 2011 and 2017.
  • From 2008 to 2011, after training as a photographer, he worked as a studio manager, trainer and as a video producer for international clients in the field of fashion and interior design.
