This course explores the emerging field of Agentic AI with a focus on the practical application of Large Language Models (LLMs) in scientific and engineering research. Students will gain hands-on experience using state-of-the-art LLMs to support and automate research tasks, from data preprocessing to generating custom software utilities. The course covers foundational concepts in LLM operation, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning, while also addressing critical aspects of evaluation, and ethical deployment.
Prerequisites: Having worked with data of all sorts; also other questions and problems that might be tackled by applying LLMs. A background in computer science is not required but a basic technical understanding and interest is helpful.
Time: 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00
Language: English
