Die von Dr. Tetiana Gorokhova, Gastwissenschaftlerin am CAIS, durchgeführte Studie befasst sich mit Kreislaufwirtschaft in der Ukraine. Das Ziel der Untersuchung ist es, die zentralen Vorteile und Hindernisse der Digitalisierung in Geschäftsmodellen der Kreislaufwirtschaft zu analysieren, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf der Identifizierung von Chancen und Herausforderungen sowie der Entwicklung von Strategien zu deren Überwindung liegt. Im Rahmen der Studie wurden 36 Online-Interviews mit verschiedenen Teilnehmenden geführt, darunter Unternehmensvertreter:innen, Wissenschaftler:innen, NGO-Mitglieder und Studierende. Die Befragungen fanden während eines thematischen Erasmus+-Trainingskurses im Dezember 2023 in der Ukraine statt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Digitalisierung eine immense Triebkraft für die Umstellung der Ukraine auf eine Kreislaufwirtschaft darstellt, gleichzeitig jedoch auch zahlreiche Herausforderungen mit sich bringt.
Abstract
Digitalization can contribute to the shift towards a sustainable circular economy (CE). Digitalization not only refines business processes but also emphasizes waste curtailment, prolonging product life, and slashing transaction costs. Therefore, digitalization supports the growth of circular economy business models by aiding in closing the loop, decelerating the material cycle, and narrowing the cycle by improving the efficiency of resource utilization. However, fully leveraging this integration presents challenges, with clear gaps hindering the fluid adoption of digitalbacked circular business models. Despite its significance, there’s a dearth of comprehensive literature on digitalization’s potential and challenges.
