Dr. Matthias Begenat

Leiter Wissenschafts­kommunikation

Matthias Begenat ist Leiter der Wissenschaftskommunikation am Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) in Bochum. Er konzipiert, plant und moderiert Formate, in denen Forschung anschaulich, verständlich und relevant präsentiert wird. Er war und ist an der Konzeption und dem Ausbau des CAIS als Institut für Digitalisierungsforschung beteiligt.

Für das CAIS koordinierte er 2024 die Taskforce „KI in der Bildung“, die Empfehlungen für die NRW-Landesregierung entwickelte. Er war Jurymitglied für den KI-Sonderpreis, der im Rahmen des Grimme Online Award 2024 vergeben wurde. Außerdem ist er Mitglied der Taskforce „KI in der Wissenschaftskommunikation“ der FactoryWisskomm des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung.

Matthias Begenat promovierte 2015 in der Kommunikations- und Medienwissenschaft an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. Er forscht über Wissenschaftskommunikation in der Digitalisierungsforschung und insbesondere zum Einsatz von KI in der Wissenschaftskommunikation. Darüber hinaus war er in verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Projekten aktiv (z.B. in der Delphi-Studie zur Zukunft der Digitalisierungsforschung). Er ist außerdem Lehrbeauftragter an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf.
